To prepare for the zombie apocalypse you should study the area around you to make a survival plan. What areas are highly populated, what escape route is there, where can I find supplies and so on. This is important information that can be the difference between life and death.

Dailymail writes about a new web page where you can prepare your plans for the undead attack. It is a map base on Google maps. It uses layers with different colors to show the population density in the area. It has icons to show where you can find supplies and it shows the roads like Google maps does.

An ammunition manufactures has finally recognized the very real threat of a zombie apocalypse and has released ammunitions specifically to deal with the zombies. Hornady is probably the first to produce a round specifically design to kill zombies. They are available in 9MM LUGER, 40 S&W 45 AUTO, 223 REM, 7.62X39, 308 WIN and 12 GA so it should be enough to fit at least a few of your guns.

What the difference between this ammunition and standard self-defense rounds is a bit unclear to me, other than branding and marketing. They are cool with the green tip and I will try to get some to add to my zombie collection. Other than that I will continue to by ordinary, cheaper rounds to stock up for the coming apocalypse. If I do get my hands on a few boxes I’ll try them out on the range and post the result.

One of the most successful Zombie games released is Plants VS Zombies. Most of you have probably heard of it, or even tried it. It was actually released in 2009 for PC and Mac and then as popularity has grown the game was released on more and more platforms, the latest two platforms are Windows Phone 7 and Android (only through the Amazon Android App Store). The games was also the fastest selling game on the iPhone when it was released in 2010, selling over 300 000 copies in 9 days! I was a bit concerned on how well it could be converted to a mobile platform but I like it a lot, especially on the iPad.

The main goal of the game is to defend your home from zombies using different kinds of plants, in a tower defense game style. As you clear different levels you earn money to buy upgrades and you will encounter more challenging zombies. There is also a series of mini games that you have to solve, most of them are quite fun. After seeing the trailer and looking at the game the first time I had the feeling that the game was kind of boring, but as it was a zombie game I decided to try it anyway. I got pleasantly surprised; I got hooked and played it for days!

One of the safest places you could be when the zombies attack is at sea. Zombies will probably not swim very well, but they can probably float. So you need to be careful so they don’t get on to your boat. What you could do is stay safely under the water in a luxury submarine.  The zombies will have a hard time getting into a underwater steel container. As a bonus you wont feel the waves when you are submerged, so your trip will be much smoother in bad weather compared to a surface going vessel.
